Safety Centre
Safety information and reporting are free for everyone, including people browsing without an account.
Before you enquire
Compare the asking price with similar properties. Ask about every compulsory cost, the deposit, utility arrangements and current availability. A low price or urgent deadline alone does not prove fraud, but deserves careful checking.
Before you view
Confirm the meeting arrangements and advertiser’s authority to offer the property. Tell someone you trust where you are going. Avoid sending unnecessary personal documents before understanding who needs them and why.
Before you pay
Inspect the property where possible, confirm the recipient and request a clear written agreement. Do not pay merely because someone pressures you. Independently confirm any change to payment instructions. Never share passwords or one-time codes.
Understand trust signals
Contact confirmation, identity checks, authority to advertise and availability confirmation are separate checks. None guarantees a tenancy. Read Verification Explained.
Report a concern
Use Report something for a listing, message or account concern. A report is a request for investigation, not proof of wrongdoing. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
